The Photo Voices project

intentionally blurry photo of small group of adults in wooded setting communicating through ASL

A project started by Jennifer Macioce and Jessica Kalmar at a Community Mental Health Center and now moved to an internet site called Our Voice in Photos. The goal is to raise awareness and break down stigmas around mental illness, problem gambling, addictions, grief, people who are Deaf, Deafblind, or hard of hearing, developmental disorders and autism. Photographs, made by people experiencing
these issues and paired with their own words forming stories that capture how they or their family members are affected.
